History

ARITA was founded as a non profit association in summer of 2021 by Tatiana Jullier, Aliénor de Dardel, Gaëlle Waeber and Laura Mostert – three lawyers and an art historian – all passionate about art and inspired by the work of ARITA's sister association, Lab-of-Arts, located in the French speaking part of Switzerland. Together they decided to set up a similar concept in Zurich for artists and art professionals in this region with a launch event – At the Bar: Talks on Artists' Rights – during the 2021 edition of the Zurich Art Weekend hosted at ACRUSH. They were quickly joined by Giulia Walter on the committee and by many other motivated lawyers for the monthly consultations.

Collaborations

  • Since September 2024, ARITA consultation sessions take place at our kind host Theater Gessnerallee. Previously, from Summer 2021 to 2024, the consultations took place at artFAQ, a production platform for dance, theater and performance in the city of Zurich.
  • The ARITA identity was created by graphic designer Ella Paleni – a graduate from the École cantonale d'art de Lausanne (ECAL).
